How to choose cabinet hardware size. While there is no set rule we generally recommend that the pull length is approximately 13 of the cabinet or drawer width. For new pulls the standard ratio is ⅓ the width of the drawer front. Knobs typically have one hole for installation and can be round square rectangular or a t-bar.
The right proportions make a big difference. Your homes overall design style plays a role in the size of the hardware you should choose. Hardware size can greatly impact the look of the cabinetry.
HOW TO CHOOSE SIZE. There is no right or wrong size to choose but we do recommend choosing pulls that have at least a 3-34 center to center the distance between the screw holes. As the size of the hardware increases the more the design style shifts from modern to contemporary.
Examples of square cabinet styles include shaker flat panel or any modified shaker door with a flatter and squared look. The larger and heavier the drawer or door the larger the handle or pull should be. 1 12 inch is a regular sized knob.
Square style hardware can still be round in shape with square contours. After you have selected the finish you want to go with then you will want to figure out what size of hardware will look best. Your knobs and handles from The Knobbery will set off the entire room when they match the relative scale of your drawers and doors.
Within these there is also size variation. 1 34 inch and larger is an oversized knob. These are more contemporary.
