Where Should I Place My Cabinet Handles
The alternative to centering your hardware is to place it on the upper frame piece or on a slab drawer in the upper quarter of the drawer.
Where should i place my cabinet handles. While on base cabinets knobs are usually placed 2-½ to 3 from the upper corner of the door. Pulls are long and typically used on drawers. Some people also choose to place pull handles in the upper or lower corners of the frame specifically anywhere from 1 to 3 from the corners.
This measurement is always greater than the center to center measurement. There is no rule against this. If you are using elongated knobs such as egg knobs or T knobs place the installation hole so that the top of your knob is in line with the rail.
For upper cabinets install knobs in the bottom corners of the door. The right proportions make a big difference. For lower cabinets place them in the upper corners.
The most popular placement is to centre the hardware in the middle of each drawer front. Center-to-Center the distance from the CENTER of one screw hole to the CENTER of the other screw hole. If a drawer is wide enough to need two knobs they should be set about 16th of the drawer length from each end roughly.
Your knobs and handles from The Knobbery will set off the entire room when they match the relative scale of your drawers and doors. You can also place the handle on slab drawers top quarter part. See below for where to use each.
The most functional cabinet hardware mix is knobs on doors and pulls or handles on drawers. However you can use knobs on drawers and pulls on cabinets. If drawers are all slab then you can place the handle on each drawers top.
